This semester certainly seems to be flying by quickly! Study abroad courses are starting to meet, and some courses will be traveling over spring break. It’s hard to believe!
This post highlights two great extracurricular activities at two campuses. Do you want to meet other people interested in study abroad and international travel?
In Georgetown, the Owens Campus Study Abroad Club is for students who have participated in a DTCC study abroad program or are interested in participating in one in the future. Members share their international experiences, talk to other students about study abroad, and organize day trips to local/regional cultural events. Each meeting has food and information about a different country or region, and we are planning a bus trip to Washington, D.C. on 4/16/16 to see the Cherry Blossoms and the Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Fair.
The club is open to students who have participated in a study abroad program or are interested in participating in one in the future. The next meeting will be on 4/13 at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Rm B (995, SSC), with more meetings and activities to be announced.
In Wilmington, the George Campus World Culture/Study Abroad Club is open to all students at the George or Stanton campus. It holds monthly meetings where members learn about different cultures (and get food from those cultures!), plan on-campus events, promote the Global Understanding Series, and much more.
The next meeting of the George campus World Culture/Study Abroad Club will be on Tuesday, March 15th at 2:00 p.m. in SE 115. The country will be Bangladesh. Please contact adviser Jack Bradley if you are interested in joining ([email protected] or 830-5254).
We are always looking for new students to participate, and we have plenty of leadership opportunities, too!
By joining these great clubs, you get the chance to:
